So I wasn't sure what other reviewers had been talking about with this place being over priced and inattentive service. As far as the menu goes, plenty of selection and priced appropriately compared to other restaurants of this caliber such as Punta Cana and Tex Chick. There isn't much of a competition on food like this in town so a premium is charged. If you don't care for the price, make it yourself at home. As for the service, our waiter immediately took our drink orders, gave us time to review the menu, for our food our in time and we didn't have to wait long for our check. Would definitely come back!!!

Once you've had Cuban food in Miami it's kind of hard to match. Found it pretty overpriced for mediocre Cuban food and drinks were overpriced for a small place. Usually some small places have ok food but at least have good drink prices. They have live music which is nice. Good place if you want to go for A drink on the weekend and live nearby. Notice I said A drink, as in one.
I went the first time over a year ago during the week for dinner and it was ok. I went on a Friday about a month ago and it was pretty empty and I only had a drink but my friend paid so I didn't know how much the bill was. My other friend wanted to go nearby and I thought she'd like it since she loves Spanish music so we went I had an appetizer and a drink and it was $25. I wouldn't mind spending that for good food and drinks. I had a pina colada and it was strong but definitely wasn't tasty at all.
I'd go again only for the convenience of it being so close by and the live music. -

The best Cuban restaurant in Houston. Thank you Kiki for your hospitality and attention. We had a Mojito platter, Rabo encendido, lechón and other plates that made me feel like in Havana
El Mojito is the place to go and enjoy live salsa music -

I was pleased to find a Cuban restaurant close to home. I would have given 3 stars because the food was about average, but at the price for two meals, I will definitely not be going back. I was surprised to find they don't include platano maduros or tostones with the meal. Adding those side dishes really inflated the price. They also seemed bland.
The atmosphere was pleasant for a little restaurant. But having arrived at 12:45 p.m. to pick up lunch for takeout, I was really surprised that the place only had two tables with people. -

With the 9.99 lunch special gone, do expect to pay dinner prices at noon time less 15%... which is no where close to the previous value that included main course, soup, drink and coffee ... Will need to wave this one off for regular weekly visits. (my dinner plate was once the lunch plate... No increase in serving amount just costs) . Guess the special wasn't a money maker.
